Impact Leaders Within The Country’s Largest Philanthropy Hub Rapidly Respond With Over $50 Million In Covid-19 Relief Funds

FBRK Impact House is home to Chicago’s top Impact Leaders!

APRIL 29, 2020 – CHICAGO, IL – Within three weeks, Chicago’s top grantors rallied to provide over $50 million in support to meet COVID-19 challenges and needs. These foundations and their supporters were able to raise funding across a dozen funds to support nonprofits, families, students, artists, low-income and marginalized communities.

“These defining times are changing us,” said Angelique Power, President of the Field Foundation, an anchor member of FBRK Impact House. “Across the globe we are all fighting a common enemy – proving how symbiotic our lives actually are in fact. If someone on Chicago’s South Side is sick, then someone on Chicago’s North Side is sick. Until we are all healthy, all able to thrive – none of us can. This is why FBRK Impact House is so important. We will rebuild, we will rethink the systems that created grave inequity – but we need each other to make it right.”

The 45,000 square-foot FBRK Impact House is Chicago’s first philanthropy hub.  It is a shared vision, brought to life by a partnership with former Chicago Bear Israel Idonije and some of Chicago’s top Impact Leaders – Field Foundation, Forefront, Woods Fund and United States Artists – and created out of the need for a central philanthropy hub in the city. A space where grantors could work together, share ideas and resources, reduce redundancies and operate with greater efficiency.

“While the ability to be physically together at Impact House has been postponed, our vision is only getting stronger. Our weekly leadership meetings are evidence of this as we see Chicago’s most influential impact leaders collaborating and sharing their thoughts and experiences,” said Idonije, FBRK Impact House Founder. “The result of these connections is a unified focus on better serving the people of Chicago.”

Individuals and nonprofits can find out more support information at www.theFBRK.com. Besides direct financial support, the Impact House community is providing essential supplies and services, delivering virtual instruction, counseling, helping individuals navigate available resource, delivering meals and groceries, sharing critical information, monitoring policies, advocating for those in need, providing virtual spaces for community connection, and supporting students with online resources (including e-books and streaming services), games and homework help.
