Increased Access to Mobile Devices: Program Opens New Doors

August 06
02:55 2020

Indianapolis, IN, USA – August 4, 2020 – Far too many Americans do not have $1,000 in the bank, almost 70% of the US population to be exact. With the prices of “smart” mobile devices at or above the thousand-dollar mark, the need for increased access to the technology for a large portion of our population with low income or bad credit is at hand. Fortunately, there is a new – no credit needed payment option for those in the retail industry to provide increased access through traditional retailers to the population at large.

• According to an article published by Experian in January, 2020 16% of all Americans have very poor credit (579 and lower)
• The Pew Research Center, 22% of people making less than $50,000 per year do not own a cell phone of any kind
Nasdaq reported in December 2019 that 45% of Americans have $0 in the bank and 69% of Americans have less than $1000 in the bank.

Many cannot imagine life without a cellphone in today’s world. Most Americans do have a phone, in fact over 70% of us in total as reported by the Pew Research Center. So why doesn’t everyone have one? Undeniably as important as mobile devices are to most of us, there’s an under told story here that is important. For those who have previously not had real access to the devices due to a set of circumstances that come together to limit those in our population with lower income or bad credit.

Imagine going to the retailer of your choice, picking out the phone you would like to purchase and then being denied the opportunity to buy it because you are not approved for their in store credit, you don’t have access to a credit card and you do not have the $1,000 it takes to buy the device. This is happening all over the United States today, but it no longer has to. “We have a program that allows the retailer to very quickly get their shopper approved on a no credit needed verification payment option” said Joseph Stepke aka Joe the Finance Guy from Indianapolis.

The program Joe the Finance Guy is referring to, is new to smart device retailers, but has been around for other retail industries such as furniture, appliance, jewelry and more for quite a long time. “The retail shopper can apply and be approved in a matter of minutes. They need to have a steady income for at least three months, earn at least $1,000 per month and have an established checking account of 90 days or longer” Joe Stepke explained. 89.8% of all American households meet or exceed the required income per Statista’s report in 2018.

Why is cellphone access so important? Consider that more and more business is being conducted via mobile devices, in fact most internet traffic is now generated from smart phones and mobile devices than from traditional desktop computers per Statcounter.

Joe Stepke endured a life changing ordeal, that highlighted the needs for cellphones for a very different reason, the safety of his family. In 2018 one morning as he was commuting to work, Joe received a call from his wife, “There was a school shooting at one of our kid’s schools” she told him. The family lives in the small community of Noblesville, IN. The specific school the shooting had taken place in hadn’t yet been made public. She was panicked of course and so was Joe about all that was happening. Very little information was released to the public at that time; however it was confirmed at least one student had been shot. On that fateful day two of Joe’s kids didn’t have phones and the one that had a phone, had an older non “smart” phone that didn’t work. In all, for a five-hour window, Joe and his wife were left wondering what happened and worried for their children’s safety.

“Cell phones are for emergencies to stay in contact with friends, family, and loved ones.” Joe said. That was the day Joseph Stepke updated his personal policy on his children having cell phones. He said, “thankfully I had the money to be able to afford three brand new phones, however many people are not that fortunate.” Nasdaq reported in December of 2019 that only 31% of Americans have $1,000 or more in the bank. With finances and credit in the USA what they are, the program now available to cell phone and mobile device retailers with no credit needed approval is a game changer. Those who like Joe understand the importance a smart device holds to their employment and communication needs, but who previously were not financially able to acquire a device of their own, there is a realistic option that is opening the door to ownership.

Smart Device, hand held electronics and cell phone retailers looking to add Joe The Finance Guy’s new no credit needed payment option to their retail customers should contact Joseph Stepke. Adding the new option will not only be helping those with low income and bad credit get the devices they need, it will also help improve retailers top line sales and the economy as a whole.
