Children’s Aid and Youthful Savings Launch a Virtual Summer Program that Will Teach Entrepreneurship and Financial Wellness!

New York, NY – August 11, 2020 – Children’s Aid and Youthful Savings are working together this summer to empower the youth of New York with a new summer program. Youth will learn necessary skills like entrepreneurship, financial wellness, mental health, storytelling, and conflict resolution. Youth will also receive dedicated mentoring from professionals working at Snap, Inc., Startupbootcamp, Apex Clearing, Charles Rothenberg LLC, and VU Venture Partners.

Youthful Savings launched their Virtual Summer Camp series to help youth stay motivated and empowered to rebuild the economy in a COVID-19 reality. Through their “My Own Business Challenge” youth will develop business ideas, learn how to pitch ideas and create online stores through the Youthful Savings Marketplace. The New York Department of Youth Development, will provide each participant with a stipend of up to $1,000.

“We are delighted to partner with Youthful Savings to help youth in our programs develop important life skills in key areas like employment readiness, social and civic leadership, and financial literacy,” said Children’s Aid President and CEO Phoebe Boyer. “Summer programs are more crucial than ever for our future leaders, and partnerships like these are ensuring youth can have access to experiences that promote their future success.”

At Youthful Savings, we have always believed that youth can create change in themselves and their communities if the right tools are given to them,” said Somya Munjal, CEO, Youthful Savings. ”Through New York’s summer youth program, we can help youth make the most out of their stipend by teaching them how to invest in themselves through entrepreneurship. I’m excited to see what the youth create and how we can make their investment turn into the next million dollar businesses in New York and beyond.”

As New York regroups from COVID-19, Youthful Savings reached out to Governor Andrew M. Cuomo in order to find ways to help rebuild the city. Youthful Savings, which is based out of New York City, believes in a public and private approach to create sustainable socioeconomic change and is grateful to the Governor for this partnership with Children’s Aid.
