Canadian-Middle Eastern artist Melody, popularly known as ‘Realonemelo’ has confirmed that her new single “All U Need” is dedicated to her new boyfriend Mo Khan. This single is one of Melody’s most personal cover singles, about an intimate part of her life. While in her previously released singles like “Khobe Halam” and “One dance remix”, she shows her powerful voice, in her single “All U Need”, she softens up a bit with smoothly flowing and enchanting vocals that make you want to slow dance with your loved one.

In this exclusive interview, Melody opens up about her new relationship, experiencing true love for the first time and overcoming her dark past of suffering from emotional abuse.

Interviewer: Who are your inspirations?

Melody: I’ve always loved singing. When I was about four years old I had one of those tape cassette karaoke machines that I would always carry around and start singing. I had posters up on my wall of the spice girls, backstreet boys… You name it. I would listen to a mix of genres from Eminem to Kelly Clarkson, to Lil Wayne. Really everything growing up. I was always the shy girl with my headphones in my ears. Everything in mainstream music has inspired me. I really think they are all talented and unique in their ways. I appreciate every artist, and rapper out there and the art that they bring into this world.

Interviewer: Tell us about your latest single “All U Need” and how your personal relationship inspired the song.

Melody: This song “All U Need,” also known as “Giving you more,” originally sung by Aaliyah, resonates so deeply with me. I was going through a tough time in my career and personal life. I was a victim. A victim of emotional abuse. Entering an industry that is so heavily dominated by men, it is tough as a female artist to keep going in the music industry without the support and guidance of others. My intentions are not to disrespect any of those men that I encountered. All I intend to do is to share my personal story with other women, and men who feel alone during those dark times. My message for victims is to reach out for help during tough times. I am so thankful I have amazing friends, family and a wonderful team around me. I am especially so thankful for meeting someone so special in my life. They changed my life and helped me get through those darkest moments. I absolutely do not think I would have gotten past those dark times on my own, my mental health was deeply affected and self-esteem was shattered during those times.

Interviewer: By ‘they’ who do you mean?

Melody: My boyfriend and manager Mo Khan, I am so thankful to have him by my side, and other great people around me. I dedicate “All U Need” especially to him. I am also learning to love myself in the process and have become a much stronger person over the past year.
