Peking University’s “Oriental Scholarship” Program Participants Visit Chongqing Polytechnic University of Electronic Technology, Praising Chinese Vocational Education
On May 13, 45 participants engaged in Peking University’s “Oriental Scholarship” program from 44 countries and regions including Kenya, Liberia, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, and Fiji, visited Chongqing Polytechnic University of Electronic Technology. They experienced the achievements of China’s vocational education development and the charm of traditional Bayu Culture.

Accompanied by relevant leaders such as Vice President Nie Qiang and Vice President Xing Kunlun, the participants visited the CQUET’s history exhibition hall to learn about its 60 years of establishment. They explored the construction of an “industry-education integration system,” featuring 12 specialized intelligent fields, including information security management and intelligent connected vehicle engineering. This model promotes “industry needs in the classroom, teaching outcomes in the production line,” achieving significant results in vocational education reform, industry-education integration, and technological innovation.

The participants toured the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Metaverse Research and Testing Base, the Intelligent Traffic Safety Innovation Platform Research Center, the Cybersecurity Collaborative Innovation Center, the Huawei Smart Innovation Center, and the Silicon Photonics Talent Development and Technology Innovation Center. At the World Skills Competition Photonics Base, they took photos with Li Xiaosong, China’s first gold medalist in the photonics technology project, and listened to his journey from world champion to vocational education teacher. In the National Studies Museum, they had an immersive experience with traditional calligraphy, tea ceremonies, and Guzheng, deeply appreciating the beauty of Chinese traditional culture.

The participants expressed admiration for the CQUET’s achievements in industry-education integration, technological innovation, and achievement transformation. They hope the university can engage in more international exchanges and collaborations with relevant countries and regions.
